Under the singlet
Meet tees
Powerlifters wear a plain cotton T-shirt under the singlet, the one-piece suit they compete in, and each federation's rulebook says what that shirt may be. Meet tees are that shirt. Each mark is small. It sits on the right sleeve, under the back collar, or high at the center of the chest near the collar, where it stays visible above most singlet necklines. The rest of the shirt stays plain. Off the platform they are clean everyday tees.
Four designs
Three carry a small barbell and our name high on the chest and Nehemiah 4:14 on the back. The Flag Meet Tee carries only the US flag on the sleeve.
Choosing color and ink
Every design comes in the same 13 shirt and ink pairings so you can match a singlet. The brand colors come first. Pick the shirt color, then the ink, then the size. The same design is the same price in every pairing.
| Shirt color | Ink |
|---|---|
| Maroon | Warm white |
| Black | Warm white, berry, bright red, or royal blue |
| Military Green | Warm white or black |
| Navy | Warm white |
| Berry | Warm white or black |
| Red | Warm white or black |
| True Royal | Warm white |
Undershirt rules by federation
We wrote this summary to help you shop. It is not a ruling. Rulebooks change and the officials at equipment check make the final call. Read your federation's current rulebook yourself before meet day. We last checked these rules against the rulebooks on September 24, 2026.
| Lift | IPF and Powerlifting America | USA Powerlifting | USPA | IPL |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Squat | Shirt required | Shirt required | Shirt required | Shirt required |
| Bench press | Shirt required, or a supportive shirt instead in equipped lifting | Shirt required, or a supportive shirt instead in equipped lifting | Shirt required for raw, not allowed under a bench shirt | Shirt required for raw, not allowed under a bench shirt |
| Deadlift | Shirt required | Shirt optional | Shirt optional | Shirt optional |
All four ban pockets, buttons, zippers, and reinforced seams on the shirt, and none lets a sleeve reach below the elbow. Meet tees are 100 percent cotton with no pockets, buttons, or zippers.
What each rulebook says
Each rule below is quoted from the federation's own rulebook, with the section and page. Follow the links to read the rest.
IPF and Powerlifting America
IPF Technical Rulebook 2026, effective March 1, 2026, version 3. Read the IPF rulebook or see the IPF technical rules page. Powerlifting America is the IPF member federation in the United States, and its technical rules page points to the IPF rulebook.
A t-shirt must be worn under the lifting singlet by all lifters in the Squat, Bench Press and Deadlift.
the t-shirt must have tight fit "Form Fitting" sleeves. Those sleeves must terminate below the lifter's deltoid and must not extend onto or below the lifter's elbow.
the t-shirt may be plain i.e., of a multi-color and with no logos or emblems, or may bear the logo or emblem
The rule then lists what the logo or emblem may be: the lifter's name, nation, or IPF region, the event, a sponsor under section 3.13, and, at national and lower meets, the lifter's club or individual sponsor. Section 3.13, on page 20, limits the logo of any maker outside the IPF's list to 5 cm by 2 cm. For a US lifter, the US flag is the emblem of the lifter's nation.
USA Powerlifting
USA Powerlifting Rulebook version 2026.2, updated February 9, 2026. Read the USA Powerlifting rulebook. USA Powerlifting has not been part of the IPF since 2021 and writes its own rules.
A T-shirt must be worn under the singlet or suit by all lifters in the squat and bench press.
In the deadlift, a T-shirt is not required to be worn for females or males.
There are no restrictions to apparel design on the apparel worn with the exception of what is described in Item 3.3.3 below.
Section 3.3.3 bars designs that refer to any powerlifting organization other than USA Powerlifting, the International Drug-Free Powerlifting Association, or their official affiliates. It also bars references to banned drugs or alcohol, and content that is obscene or attacks USA Powerlifting. A woman who deadlifts without the T-shirt must wear a bra or sports bra under the singlet.
USPA
USPA Technical Rules 2025v1, March 24, 2025. Read the USPA rulebook.
A shirt must be worn under a Raw lifter's singlet during the bench press but is not allowed to be worn under a bench shirt.
While performing the deadlift, women are required to wear a minimum of a sports bra, and a shirt is optional for both men and women.
Fits loosely enough on the lifter's body to ensure that it does not afford the lifter any physical support.
The t-shirt may be the official t-shirt of the contest in which the lifter is competing or have any design that is not offensive or likely to bring the sport into disrepute.
The shirt may be cotton or a blend with up to 25 percent stretch fiber, and its sleeves may not reach below the elbows. Item 3.1.2, on page 16, bars the name or logo of any other powerlifting organization anywhere on what the lifter wears.
IPL
IPL Technical Rules 2025v1, May 10, 2025. Read the IPL rulebook.
The t-shirt may be the official t-shirt of the contest in which the lifter is competing or have any design that is not offensive or likely to bring the sport into disrepute.
IPL Item 3.5 has the same substance as the USPA rule above, including the bench shirt, the deadlift, the 25 percent stretch limit, and the loose fit. Item 3.1.2, on page 15, bars the name or logo of any other powerlifting organization.
How our shirts fit these rules
The Flag Meet Tee is the one for IPF and Powerlifting America meets. The other three carry marks that are not on the IPF's list of what a shirt may show, so they do not meet its shirt rule. All four suit USA Powerlifting, USPA, IPL, and federations with similar rules. This is what each rulebook says about the print. It is not a ruling, and no federation has ruled on these shirts.

The IPF also asks for form-fitting sleeves, and USPA and IPL ask for a shirt loose enough to give no support. Only the officials can judge either on the shirt you wear. These are our readings of the written rules. Your federation, your meet, and the referee on the day decide. Read the rulebook, then choose.
