Nicaea Wasn’t a Safe Space
Stand and Fight
$35
Premium 100 percent combed ring-spun cotton, preshrunk
In AD 325 the bishops of the church met at Nicaea to answer Arius, a priest of Alexandria who taught that the Son of God was a created being. The council confessed the Son as true God from true God, of one substance with the Father, and the creed it wrote is still confessed today. A later tradition says Nicholas of Myra, the bishop the world now knows as Saint Nicholas, was so outraged that he struck Arius in front of the council. The story first appears centuries after the council, and painters have loved it ever since. The front shows that moment. The back carries THE CREED HITS DIFFERENT over the creed's words about the Son and the Patriarch Outfitters mark. The sleeve carries the flag over FEAR GOD ALONE and STAND AND FIGHT. It makes a good Christmas shirt, and Saint Nicholas is worth wearing all year. Printed to order on a premium tee of preshrunk 100 percent combed ring-spun cotton in a fitted cut, with a Patriarch Outfitters label inside the neck that lists the size, country of origin, and material. The label is printed directly for tagless comfort.
Larger sizes cost a little more to make.
